StationMaster - The Log for Windows™

The latest and final version of StationMaster (16-bit) is 1.22

Uploaded on 29th September 2000 as a patch to be applied to version 1.20

If you are currently running with a version earlier than this (check by clicking Help then About from the programme toolbar), and wish to upgrade to the latest release then read on.

In order to upgrade to version 1.22 you should download the version 1.20 diskette set from here. You will then need to re-install the programme, remembering to first take a copy of your .mdb log file(s) and also your stnmst.ini file, both of which can be found in the C:\STNMST folder. It is suggested that you then rename your backup log file to oldlog.mdb.
NB Please check that your stnmst.ini file contains the following line in the section marked [Main] : Band4=30,10.1,10.100,10.150 If not, use a text editor (e.g. Notepad or DOS Edit) to make the necessary change to the backup version of the file. This will cure the problem of 10m and 10MHz QSOs possibly being confused in earlier versions.

Completely remove the STNMST folder from your hard disk and install version 1.20.
After re-installation (and licensing if you are a registered user) copy your backup files into the STNMST folder before running StationMaster. Confirm that you wish to overwrite the stnmst.ini file when asked.
When the programme loads, ignore any error messages concerning your old log file. Create a new log (using File) e.g.' yourcall' and then import (using Tools) your old log into the new one. This procedure is essential in order to preserve your award/DXCC tracking. Finally, call up the Setup option from the File menu and check the settings for TNC, DX Cluster, rig control, CDROM callbook and back-up utility.

Please now follow the instructions below to download and install the patch to bring you up to version 1.22.

What's new in StationMaster 1.20 ?

Quite a few fixes and enhancements were introduced as versions 1.18 and 1.19,
but due to the rapid succession of these versions they were not made available.
We therefore bundled them up as version 1.20,
which now occupies 5 diskettes - there are Word and Acrobat versions of the manual included.

Final Patch for StationMaster 16-bit (Version 1.22)

A bug which affects the integrity of StationMaster's import routine was notified subsequent to the release of Version 1.20 - this is rectified by replacing the main program file (stnmst.exe), located in the stnmst folder with the following downloadable file FIX122.ZIP which will unzip to create a new stnmst.exe. You should overwrite the old file with the new version, and then re-run the licensing routine.

Updates to the Country File

The Country File (country.mdb) in StationMaster is located in the stnmst folder, and can be kept up-to-date by downloading COUNTRY.ZIP which will unzip to create a new country.mdb file. You should overwrite the old file with the new version, and then run the DXCC rescoring routine.
